The Benjamin Banneker Historical Society site has been created by the University of Massachusetts History Club. Our objective is to give honor and recognition to the cultural impact and the way Banneker challenged racist beliefs in eighteenth-century America.
This site will allow you to understand the rich and complex life of Benjamin Banneker with documented historical facts and in-depth information of his life and legacy. We provide a wide range of media such as illustrations of landmarks, historical events and videos to support research. We want to create a unique scholarly source and enhance the availability of information to promote excellence in learning.
We have collected and organized articles about the life of Frederick Douglass and his contribution to American history to be displayed in this cultural memorabilia. We celebrate the contribution of African Americans to American History and embrace and promote intercultural competence.
